Why Mike is running

The Secretary-Treasurer's office should be a center of support, transparency, accountability, and growth.

Mike believes budgets reflect values, dues reflect trust, and investments reflect priorities. His campaign is about making sure every Local has the tools, training, information, and resources it needs to serve members and build power.

A stronger CWA starts with trust: clear reporting, fair dues practices, modern systems, and a budget that backs organizing, Local capacity, and first-contract campaigns.

Platform priorities

A budget that reflects our values.

02

Stronger Locals

Expanded support, training, infrastructure, and capacity-building for Locals and districts before challenges become emergencies.

03

Growth Through Organizing

Put organizing at the center of the budget with resources for traditional sectors, emerging industries, member organizers, and community partnerships.

04

First-Contract Support

Dedicated, accessible support for new units so Locals are not left to carry the cost of bargaining, mobilization, research, and member education alone.

05

Direct Join Membership

A stronger path for workers ready to build CWA power before formal recognition or a traditional election is possible.

06

Technology That Works

Better dues systems, affordable accounting tools, grievance tracking, document digitization, and Local-first technology that saves time.

Member power

We cannot say organizing is our priority if we do not fund it.

Mike's platform connects organizing, bargaining, political power, first-contract support, and Local capacity into one practical growth strategy.

Modern tools for strong Locals

Our systems should serve us, not slow us down.

CWA should partner with leading software providers to bring every Local affordable, modern tools like grievance tracking, document digitization, and better dues systems. The goal is simple: technology that cuts busywork and makes the daily work of Locals and staff easier, faster, and more accountable.

Meet Michael Roberts

Service, integrity, accountability, and hard work.

Raised in a family of ten, Mike learned early that character is defined by the choices you make when no one is watching. His father worked at a sugar mill, his mother served as a nurse, his sister became a teacher, and his brother a firefighter.

Those examples shaped his belief that every worker deserves dignity, respect, and a voice on the job. Today, they continue to guide his vision for a more transparent, responsive, modern, and member-led CWA.
